Highlights: At Spring Grove, the 10th-seeded Trojans (10-13) couldn't overcome a big third-quarter deficit in suffering the District 3-AA first round loss to the No. 7 Fighting Irish (12-11).

York Catholic advances to Saturday's 1:30 p.m. quarterfinal against No. 2 seed Trinity at Chambersburg.

The Fighting Irish outscored Tulpehocken 18-7 in the third quarter to grab a 22-point lead. The Trojans pulled within nine in the fourth, but couldn't get closer.

York Catholic's Joe Falci scored 11 of his game-high 19 points in the third.

Wadkins Richardson scored a career-high 12 points to lead Tulpehocken.
