Highlights: At New Oxford, Lauren Heliger scored 13 points and made seven steals as the Lions (15-8) beat the Crusaders (15-9) in a 3-A opener for the school's first District 3 win in any sport.

Berks Christian extended its lead to 17-8 in the second quarter when Heliger converted two steals into layups and reserve Alice Wible hit two jumpers. Lauren Reitz had eight points and seven rebounds for the ninth-seeded Lions, who will meet top-seeded Central Catholic in the quarterfinals at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Garden Spot.
