Highlights:
Gov. Mifflin fell behind by double digits after a four-point second quarter and was unable to overcome the deficit in suffering a 65-55 defeat at Hershey in the District 3-AAAA preliminary round.
The No. 19 Mustangs (13-12), who trailed most of the game, cut the deficit to five midway through the second half, sparked by Jevon Willet’s nine third-quarter points, before the No. 14 Trojans (14-9) eventually pulled away.
Reid Hoff scored a game-high 15 points for the Mustangs and Willet came off the bench to score all nine of his points in the third, making three field goals, including a 3-pointer, and a pair of free throws.
Hoff led Gov. Mifflin with three 3-pointers and Tristan Ovid made one, scoring 11 points on five field goals.
Taylor Sweeney scored a game-high 21 points and Dylan Painter had 17 points and six blocks to lead Hershey.
The Trojans advance to face No. 3 William Penn (21-4) in the first round.
