Highlights: Jarad Woods' baseline 12-footer glanced off the rim at the buzzer, allowing Berks Catholic to escape with a win over visiting Eastern York in a District 3-AAA first-round game at Wolf Gymnasium.

The ninth-seeded Saints (16-9) led by 11 points early in the fourth quarter before a late collapse that saw them go 0-for-7 from the foul line over the final 3:13.

They didn't score over the final 1:53.

The ninth-seeded Golden Knights (14-9) pulled within 44-43 when Woods hit both ends of a one-and-one with 9.2 seconds left.

When Berks Catholic's Pop Lacey missed both ends of a double bonus with 7.8 seconds left Eastern York rushed the ball downcourt for a final shot.

The Saints advance to meet top-seeded and defending champ Susquehanna Township in the quarterfinals Friday at 8 at Giant Center.
