Highlights: At Wissahickon High School, Jenna Widdicombe scored 19 points and pulled down 15 rebounds to lead her Pope John Paul II Golden Panthers to a 58-33 win over Merion Mercy in the District 1-AAA semifinals.

With the win, the Golden Panthers also secure a berth in the PIAA state championship tournament.

The Golden Panthers were able to dominate the game from the start using Widdicombe's size in the low post, as well as superior passing, registering 16 assists.
