Highlights: Stevie Mitchell shook off a slow start and scored a game-high 31 points as Wilson pulled away from Downingtown West for a non-league victory at West Lawn.

The Bulldogs (9-1) trailed 7-0 at the outset and by as many as eight points midway through the second quarter before Mitchell ignited a big run.

Mitchell came alive in the second quarter, sparking a 13-0 Wilson run by hitting five straight shots.

Mitchell scored Wilson's first eight points of the second quarter and hit five straight shots at one point as the Bulldogs zoomed ahead 25-20.

The Wilson junior missed his first five shots and seven of his first eight before kicking it into gear.

The Bulldogs went from eight down to five up in a sizzling three-minute stretch.

Will Howard and Hunter Blair each scored nine points for the Whippets (5-4).

Wilson returns to Berks Conference play Tuesday when it hosts Gov. Mifflin in a Division I game. The Bulldogs share first place with Muhlenberg, each off to a 2-0 start in league play.
