Highlights: Freshman Ruben Rodriguez knocked down a 15-footer with two seconds left to lift Muhlenberg to a pulsating 54-52 win over Northern York in a District 3 Class 5A semifinal at Dillsburg.

The eighth-seeded Muhls (20-6) held the ball for the final 1:02 before Rodriguez got open on the right wing and drilled the game-winner. He led Muhlenberg with 18 points.

The Muhls advance to play third-seeded Milton Hershey, a 62-52 winner over second-seeded New Oxford, in the championship Friday at Giant Center at 8:30. Muhlenberg beat Milton Hershey in the opening round of districts last season.

The fourth-seeded Polar Bears (20-5) went ahead 52-49 on a pair of free throws by Alex Welshans with 2:07 left. Jacob Stoudt tied it 52-52 on a 3-pointer with 1:57 left.

The Polar Bears had a chance to take the lead but Jordan Heisey missed the front end of a one-and-one with 1:10 left to set up the final sequence.

The Muhls trailed by as many as five points early in the second quarter before Stoudt hit a 3-pointer to cap a 9-0 run for a 21-17 lead.
