Highlights
Joey Zettlemoyer threw a complete-game shutout Thursday to lead No. 2 Downingtown West to a 2-0 win over No. 5 Boyertown in a District 1-AAAA third-place game at Downingtown.
The Whippets (20-3) and Bears (20-6) were locked in a scoreless tie through 5 1/2 innings until a pair of RBI singles by JohnPaul Bell and Nick Campana put Downingtown West ahead in the sixth.
Boyertown had eight hits, but left nine runners on base.
Both teams advance to the PIAA playoffs, which begin Monday.
