Highlights
Boyertown scored five in the top of the first and kept on scoring in an 18-0 rout of Olney Charter in a PIAA Class AAAA baseball opener at George Washington High School in Philadelphia. Mitch Pinder scored on a single, two steals, and a throwing error before the first out was recorded and Mitch Peers drilled two doubles in the first two innings to get the Bears (21-6) started.
District 12 champion Olney (17-3) was held to three singles in a game shortened to five innings by the 10-run rule. The Bears will face Wyoming Valley West, a 3-1 winner over Governor Mifflin, in a Thursday quarterfinal.
