Highlights
Boyertown is headed to the PIAA Class AAAA baseball semifinals after a 4-2 win over Wyoming Valley West Thursday night at Pottsville High School.
Ryan Weller gave the Bears (22-6) a 1-0 lead with a second-inning homer and Boyertown added two runs in the third and one in the fourth for a 4-0 lead.
Pat Hohlfeld pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts for the win, with the only runs for the Spartans (15-3) coming on RBI doubles by Tyler Yankosky in the fourth and sixth.
The Bears will face Cumberland Valley on Monday at a time and place to be determined.
