At Manchester, Nick Kuhn hit a two-run single and Mike Procak had an RBI groundout in a three-run ninth inning as the 14th-seeded Hawks (13-8) upset the third-seeded Bobcats (16-5) in a District 3-AAA opener. Kuhn was 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs for Hamburg, winning pitcher Ryan Smith was 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI and Austin Schlenker was 2-for-2. The Hawks were one strike from winning the game in the seventh and eighth innings before Northeastern rallied twice.
