At Philadelphia, Frank Melvin had 13 kills, three digs and a block as the Panthers (17-4) advanced to the PIAA Class AA quarterfinals with a sweep of the District 12 champion Engineers (16-4). Also for Schuylkill Valley, Mitch Strobel had nine kills, five blocks, five aces and seven digs; Andrew Lash had 34 assists, five digs, three blocks and three kills; Matt Cieniewicz had nine kills; and Noah Butsack had six digs.
