Highlights:At Wolf Gymnasium, sophomore Tyrone Nesby scored 19 points and Berks Catholic held Conrad Weiser without a third-quarter field goal in a key Berks Conference Division II game that made Saints coach Snip Esterly the winningest coach in Berks basketball history.
With former record-holder Lloyd Wolf of Holy Name on the bench beside him, Esterly saw the Saints play tight second-half defense to help him notch victory No. 627.
The win moved the Saints (5-1, 7-7) into a first-place tie with the Scouts (5-1, 9-5) and avenged a 45-41 loss at Robesonia in December.
Center Connor Jack had 11 points and 12 rebounds to help the Saints dominate the boards by a 39-20 advantage.
Saints guard Isaac Lutz, who didn't play in the first meeting with Weiser because of a knee injury, scored 13 points and played a key defensive role on Berks scoring leader Cartier Talford.
Talford scored 21 points, nearly five below his average, and went without a field goal for a 17-minutes stretch over the second, third and fourth quarters.
