Genna Strobel scored six goals Wednesday and Wilson held on to defeat Hempfield 19-18 in the District 3 Class 3A girls lacrosse third-place game in Hummelstown.
Fourth-seeded Wilson led 19-16 before second-seeded Hempfield (17-5) scored twice in the final minute to make it close.
Kendall Duffy had four goals and two assists for Wilson (18-6), which qualified for the PIAA Tournament for the third straight year.
Wilson will open the state tournament Tuesday against the winner of today’s District 1 championship game between Harriton and Conestoga.
