Highlights: Daniel Boone took advantage of two short-field drives and effectively put the game away with a fourth-quarter touchdown to beat Muhlenberg 21-7 Friday night in a Berks Football League Section 1 game at Laureldale.

Down 7-0 in the second quarter, the Blazers (1-1, 3-2) tied the game after Anthony Spagnoletti recovered a fumble at the Muhls 32. Eight plays later, Solomon Ramsey scored on a 3-yard run to tie it.

On the ensuing drive, Boone’s Jonathan Passifione recovered another fumble at Muhlenberg’s 33. This time, quarterback Nick Hughes scored from 3-yards out to put Boone up 14-7.

Muhlenberg (1-1, 1-4) had a chance to score right before halftime, but were stopped on downs inside the 10.

After a defensive second half for both teams, the Blazers put the game away with 7:25 left when Hughes scored from 8 yards out. The drive was kept alive with two conversions on third-and-long.
