Highlights: Shane Dantzler and Bailey McElroy each rushed for a touchdown and Wilson's defense kept Gov. Mifflin out of the end zone in a season-opening 14-3 non-league victory before 5,000 at Mustangs Stadium.

The underdog Mustangs rushed for 213 yards and had 14 first downs but were hurt by turnovers and red zone stops.

Dantzler gave the Bulldogs the lead with a 1-yard TD run late in the first half but did not play in the second because of a bruised knee.

McElroy took over for him in the second half and ran for 72 yards, including a 2-yard TD run early in the fourth quarter that pushed the lead to 14-3.

Mifflin's only points came on a 35-yard field goal by Ben Myers as time expired in the first half.

Mifflin quarterback Hunter Reeser ran for a game-high 97 yards on 18 carries.

Ike Schannauer and Jon Fox had interceptions for Wilson.
