Highlights:
At Landisville, Alex Twiford's 3-yard touchdown plunge with 2:13 remaining gave Wilson a pulsating 15-9 Section 1 victory over unbeaten Hempfield and set the Lancaster-Lebanon League record for consecutive league victories at 53.
The Bulldogs (2-0, 5-1) trailed 9-7 when a high snap on a punt gave the Black Knights (1-1, 5-1) a safety with 1:43 remaining in the third quarter.
The Bulldogs took over with 6:06 remaining and drove 60 yards in nine plays for the go-ahead score. Bailey McElroy, who finished with a game-high 119 rushing yards, ran four times for 31 yards on the drive. He had runs of 12 and 11 yards on the drive, the second of those giving Wilson a first down at the 8.
Wilson limited Hempfield's high-powered offense to 182 total yards but found itself in a 7-7 halftime time after Will Blair returned a kickoff 90 yards for a score 25 seconds before intermission.
The Bulldogs drove to the Hempfield 26 midway through the final quarter but Collin Powers' pass into the end zone was intercepted.
Wilson broke the league record for consecutive wins established by Manheim Central.
