At Wenger Park, Fredericksburg, Cody Albright threw a five-hitter and scored the game-winning run as Berks Christian topped Newport to clinch the school's first district final in any sport.
The sixth-seeded Lions (8-4), who are in their first year as a varsity program, advance to play No. 1 Camp Hill in today's District 3-A title game. The final is slated for 4:30 p.m. at York's Sovereign Bank Stadium.
Berks Christian also earned a berth in the state tournament.
Albright struck out six en route to the win. He also went 2-for-2 with two runs.
With No. 7 Newport leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Albright led off with a triple to center, then scored on a Kody Godsey sacrifice.
The Lions scored the go-ahead run in the sixth as Daniel Klase doubled home Albright.
