At New Schaefferstown, the Cougars (5-1, 6-5) escaped a jam in the seventh inning to defeat the Trojans (2-4, 5-7).
With no outs and the winning run on second, Jake Fegely struck out two and forced a pop up to get the save in one inning of relief. After Kutztown scored single runs in the fifth and sixth to take a 6-2 lead, Tulpehocken scored once in the sixth and twice in the seventh on a Ross Baver RBI double and Eric Hartranft's run-scoring single. Curtis Hershey then reached on catcher's interference, which sent Hartranft to second and Dan Louviaux, who reached on a walk, to third before Fegely ended it.
Fegely finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Austin Isamoyer was 2-for-3 with two runs for Kutztown, which scored three unearned runs in the second.
For the Trojans, Eric Hartranft was 3-for-4 with an RBI, Baver 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI and Schmeck 2-for-4 with a run.
