PIAA-AAAA first round
Highlights: At Wilkes University, Bekah Slattery and Mikaela Ballmer each hit over-the-fence two-run homers to lead the Blazers (20-7) past the Cougars (21-2) to win a first-round state playoff game.
Ballmer homered in the third inning and Slattery in the fourth to make it 4-0. Each girl finished 2-for-4.
Slattery also threw the four-hitter, striking out nine and walking one.
