Girls Basketball
Anyone have an opinion on the team, teams or players to watch this coming season?

The Twin Valley girls should make things interesting this year despite their youth (no seniors?). I think they return three solid starters in K. McGinnis, Hix and Weinhold.

What about Muhlenberg, Wilson or Schuylkill Valley? Saw some young talent at Fleetwood last year but don't know much about them.

Twin Valley has a ton of speed, Wilson is still probably the team to beat, Muhlenberg has the core of their players back from last season, Schuylkill Valley is young and has to adjust to the lack of Corielle but Coach Mitchell will have them ready. Wyo has a really good first five but lacks the needed depth

I believe the core of TVs players went 14-0 in middle school ball. The division is tough, some of the best teams lurk in Berks 2 (Muhlenberg, Fleetwood, Boone). Should make for an interesting year.

RE: Girls Basketball
How does a talented girls team score only 17 points in not one, but 2 games so far this year? 17 points in a basketball game? Unacceptable. The coach's system is terrible as the girls look hesitant to shoot. They have one of the best post players in the county. USE HER. I don't understand some of the thinking in this county. If you aren't doing well, and refuse to change, things will always end the same. This is what separates successful schools from perenial mediocrity.

Has anyone noticed the freshman Maria Wendt from Central that has quietly racked up over 200 points this year and frequently has 10 or more rebounds? Watch out for her and her freshman teammates, Marie Rosignoli whose brother won a state title, and Lexi Dicherico. All three are freshman with a lot of playing time this year.

Right, but no one ever wonders if Brandywine will be a threat?

With a 12-11 record right now going to the second round of districts...but you know, it's just Brandywine....

RE: Girls Basketball
Yeah, Brandywine should be proud making districts with a 12-11 record. Wow. How'd they end up doing? That's why no one watches Brandywine.
