Highlights
At George Field, the Red Knights (14-6) stole five bases, walked three times, had a hit batsman and singled three times in a wild and decisive seven-run fourth that gave them the Berks I title in a one-game playoff against the Mustangs (11-9).
Erick Escobar had three steals in the game for Reading High, which earlier Thursday forced the playoff with a dramatic comeback win over Exeter.
Francisco Torres tossed six shutout innings for the Red Knights, who will open the Berks playoffs against Oley Valley at Owls Field on either Saturday or Monday. Torres scattered six hits and struck out eight.
Josh Ruffner went 3-for-4 with a triple, a run and an RBI for Mifflin, which begins the Berks playoffs against Brandywine Heights at Muhlenberg on either Saturday or Monday.
