Oley Valley at Reading High

At Owls Field, Ryan Kline was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Sean Townsley went the distance for the win as the Berks III runner-up Lynx (14-5) upset the Berks I champion Red Knights (14-7) in a Berks League quarterfinal. Oley will face Tulpehocken in a 4 p.m. semifinal Monday at FirstEnergy Stadium. Reading High, which made the league playoffs for the first time since 2003, tied it 2-2 with a pair of unearned runs in the fourth. The Lynx answered with a three-run fifth as Ryan Kline and Sean Townsley hit RBI singles and Andrew Christman drove in a run with a double. Erick Escobar hit a two-out, two-run single in the seventh to cut Reading High's deficit to three, but it was too little, too late for the Red Knights. Kline went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Sean McNally was 2-for-3 for Oley, which stranded 11 batters. Sean Heck went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Reading.
