Gov. Mifflin at Daniel Boone

Winning pitcher Jess Epler struck out 13 and drove in a pair of runs, incluidng one in the 10th inning, as the undefeated Mustangs outlasted Daniel Boone in a key softball crossover game Wednesday. Epler allowed five hits and went 2-for-5, knocking in the tying run for Mifflin (6-0 Berks I, 11-0) in the sixth inning. Her 10th-inning double scored a run after Rachel Lawes knocked in the go-ahead run with a bloop single. Boone (4-2 Berks II, 6-4) came back with a run in the bottom of the 10th and had the bases loaded before Epler (6-0) got a groundout back to the mound to end the game. Sam Denlinger went 3-for-5 and Alex Kissinger was 2-for-5 for Mifflin. Katie Erb pitched a complete game and struck out seven while going 3-for-4 Boone. Mandi Baer and Taylor Ciatto each had two hits for the Blazers, who suffered their third straight one-run, extra-inning defeat.
