Highlights
Taylor Sweigart and Jess Davidheiser hit back-to-back home runs in the eighth inning to lead Brandywine Heights to a 7-3 win over previously undefeated Exeter Thurdsday at Lyons in the Berks Softball League championship game.
Brandywine (21-2) was shut out on one hit by Sarah Musselman for five innings and trailed Exeter (20-1) 2-0. But the Bullets rallied for three runs in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Davidheiser, the winning pitcher, and a two-run single by Nora Harrison.
Exeter tied it in the sixth on an RBI double by Zoe Barna, forcing the first extra-inning county championship game in six years.
Halle Kisamore had three hits and an RBI to lead Exeter. Sweigart went 2-for-2, drew two walks and scored two runs to lead Brandywine.
