Highlights
Daniel Boone battled back from an early, five-run deficit to tie it in the top of the seventh inning, but Solanco scored in the bottom half to earn the win Tuesday in a District 3 Class 5A elimination game at Millersville.
Second-seeded Solanco took a 5-0 lead in the second, but 11th-seeded Boone scored one in the fourth, three in the fifth and one in the seventh to draw even.
With Daniel Boone (11-9) down to its last out, Sydney Hayes tripled and Heather Hall followed with an RBI single that tied it.
Hayes went 2-for-3 with two triples, two RBIs and two runs scored and Hall 2-for-4 with two RBIs to lead Boone.
Kara McClune’s one-out single drove the winning run home for Solanco (17-4), which advances to the fifth-place game against Lower Dauphin, site and time to be determined.
