Central Catholic at Antietam

Highlights: At Mount Penn, the Cardinals (1-4, 1-7) leaped to leads of 11-0 after 21/2 innings and 12-2 after four innings, then held on for dear life to survive a shootout with the Mounts (1-4, 1-7-1). Antietam drew to within 12-11 in the bottom of the seventh on Drew Gilbert's two-run single, but stranded the would-be tying and winning runs to end the game. Sparked by Billy Harner's two-run triple, Central scored eight in the second inning to seemingly take control. But Antietam started chipping away, climbing back into it with a four-run fifth and a three-run sixth. Gilbert finished 4-for-5 with two doubles and six RBIs, two of which came on one of his doubles during the four-run fifth. Brian Wrobel and Vince Randazzo also had RBI doubles in the inning. Nick Demangone went 3-for-5 with runs and an RBI, and Adam Broad was 2-for-4 with three RBIs for the Cardinals.
