Highlights:Jenna Dekovitch scored five minutes before halftime off a throw-in from Kara Weller and banged-up Brandywine Heights made it stick, surviving for a thrilling 1-0 win over Berks rival Schuylkill Valley in a District 3-AA preliminary Wednesday night at Topton.
The 11th-seeded Bullets (15-5) survived a hit post by the No. 22 Panthers (11-8) 15 minutes into the second half.
“It was a tightly contested game; it could’ve gone either way,” said Brandywine Heights coach Skip Sibiski. “We were the lucky ones to get the goal, basically.”
The Bullets next head to Harrisburg’s City Island for a 7 p.m. first-round match Wednesday against No. 6 Bishop McDevitt, which beat Holy Name Monday night.
