Highlights:Wilson's senior class has distinguished itself with four county finals, two Berks girls soccer championships and a district title over the past four springs.
But the standout group of a dozen girls ended its memorable run Wednesday afternoon with a 2-0 District 3-AAA first-round loss to Red Land at Lewisberry.
The eighth-seeded Patriots (16-4) got first-half goals from Elaina White and Marie D'Angelo to take a two-goal lead at the break, and the No. 9 Bulldogs (17-6) could not recover despite having plenty of second-half chances.
All seven of Wilson's corner kicks came after halftime.
"We just couldn't dig ourselves out of that 2-0 hole," said Bulldogs coach Tim Fick.
Wilson's seniors leave the program after going 78-19-15 (48-1-2 in league play) over their four seasons.
