Highlights:District 3-AAA preliminary
At York, senior midfielder Cory Moore knocked home a free kick from 20 yards, sending the defending champion and 21st-seeded Eagles (8-7-2) to a dramatic overtime victory over the No. 12 Panthers (13-7).
Exeter will play a first-round match at 5th-seeded Hershey Thursday night.
Exeter beat Central York in a district opener for the second straight year; the Eagles beat the Panthers last fall en route to the program's first 3-AAA title.
The victory was particularly satisfying for young Exeter, which has spent the season transitioning, sometimes painfully, from last year's county and district championship squad.
"To not give up on the season when districts come around, and to go get a win, shows a lot of heart," said Eagles coach Chris Farrell.
Moore also assisted on one of two Michael Palacios goals, which helped Exeter stay even through regulation.
