Highlights:At Oley, the three seniors stepped up in a school-record 20th win for the Lynx (12-0, 20-1), who remained undefeated in Berks III play with a win over the Spartans (7-5, 12-8) Thursday.
Chelsea Gieringer led the Lynx with her 18th double-double (18 points, 19 boards) and Bailey McKeon had 12 points and 11 boards, but it was senior Danielle Vallely who sealed it with her five points in the final minute.
Wyomissing’s Cherise Key hit a 3 to cut it to 50-47 with 1:00 left, but Vallely grabbed the board on a missed free throw and converted a three-point play with 30 seconds left. Ten seconds later, she hit both ends of a one-and-one.
The Spartans rallied from a 29-20 halftime deficit to create a tense fourth, but the Lynx avoided the collapse, despite playing much of the fourth without Nicole Vallely (fouled out) and Jazmen Clark (injury), who combined for 15 steals.
