Highlights:At Fleetwood, Carly Schaeffer’s goal 33 minutes into the first half held up as the 17th-seeded Lions (13-5) defeated the 16th-seeded Trojans (11-6-1) in a District 3-AA preliminary.
The Trojans had a pair of strong scoring opportunities in the first half but leading scorer Lydia Kahl and Casey Rightmyer were turned back by goalie Jan Mermelstein.
Each team managed only six shots.
The Lions advance to face top-seeded Trinity Wednesday at 7.
