Highlights:At Fredericksburg, Jake Lloyd gave up four hits and a first-inning run, striking out 12 in a complete game as the 10th-seeded Cardinals (7-13) beat third-seeded Mount Calvary to advance to Thursday's District 3 Class A championship game. Lloyd gave up two of the hits in the first inning as Mount Calvary took a 1-0 lead, but the Cardinals scored a single runs in the third (Nick Demangone scored on a two-out double steal), fifth (Mike Bean doubled and came home on Andrew Hoffa's single) and seventh innings (Demangone walked and scored on a Hoffa triple). "We've got one more to reach our goal and we did qualify for states, so that's a bonus," said Central Catholic coach Scott Hassler.
