Highlights:At Hershey, Berks County’s leading scorer gave Kutztown’s boys soccer team its golden goal.
Pierre Reedy scored 47 seconds into overtime to lift top-seeded Kutztown over Tulpehocken 1-0 in the District 3-A championship game at Hersheypark Stadium Saturday.
Reedy beat two defenders off the dribble in the corner and sent a sharp-angle shot inside the far post to deliver Kutztown’s first district championship.
It was Reedy’s 43rd goal of the season, 20 more than any other Berks player.
Tulpehocken held Reedy in check for 80 minutes of regulation, limiting Kutztown to two shots. The Trojans couldn’t cash in any of their chances and the game remained scoreless.
It was the third meeting of the season between the Berks III rivals. The first two ended in ties.
