Highlights:Bre Sgrignoli scored the go-ahead goal with 18:25 left in the first half and the Panthers (15-6) held on in the second half to get a 2-1 win over the Bulldogs (10-10-1) in a District 3 Class AAA tournament preliminary round win Friday at York.
The Bulldogs, who were eliminated with the loss, jumped to an early lead with a goal from Rachel Hafer less than three minutes into the first half. Central’s Lynsey Nicholas tied it with 23:42 remaining in the half.
The Panthers will go on the road to face fourth-seeded Hershey in the first round of the tournament at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
