Highlights:No. 2 Downingtown East scored two second-half goals and held on to beat No. 7 Methacton 2-1 Friday in a District 1-AAA quarterfinal played at Downingtown West High School in Downingtown.
Jen Rees scored the only goal of the game, which was scoreless at halftime, for the Warriors (16-4-1) off an assist from Maddie Alderfer.
Sarah Park had eight saves in goal for Methacton, which was outshot 20-10 by Downingtown East.
The Warriors play Mount St. Joe's Wednesday with a bid to the state tournament at stake.
The Cougars advance to face No. 3 seed Central Bucks West in a semifinal playoff Wednesday.
