Highlights:In the third-place game, Wilson suffered a 22-18 loss to No. 3 seed Erie Cathedral Prep. The Bulldogs (23-3) scored with three seconds left in regulation, but again went scoreless in overtime.
No. 2 seed Cumberland Valley, the only team to defeat Wilson heading into the state tournament, downed North Penn 10-4 in the championship game.
Wilson senior Carter Young was recognized post-tournament as Pennsylvania’s Player of the Year with the title of Mr. Water Polo.
Young, fellow Bulldog Quinn Lloyd and Gov. Mifflin’s Riley Mangan were each named first team All-State.
Wilson’s Kegan Laman was named to the second team and teammates Jon Templin and Caleb Degler made the third team.
All-State honorable mentions went to Dominic Voterro (Wilson), Tyler Christ (Muhlenberg) and Trevor Woolwine (Gov. Mifflin).
