Highlights:3-AAA preliminary
At Harrisburg, sophomore Ryan Ferrante's goal with 10 minutes left pushed Mifflin's lead to 2-0, and the 18th-seeded Mustangs (12-5-2) then survived a Panthers (12-9) flurry to record the program's first postseason victory in its 31 seasons of soccer.
Fifteenth-seeded C.D. East put most of its players forward after Ferrante's goal, and cut the lead in half when Chris Wagner connected with 5 1/2 minutes left. But the Mustangs yielded nothing more.
Mifflin, which went up 1-0 on Alex Humphrey's first-half goal, next travels to No. 2 Red Land for a 4 p.m. 3-AAA first-round game Thursday.
