Highlights:District 3-AAA first round
At Elizabethtown, the Bulldogs (17-5-2) won on an own goal in overtime to defeat the Bears (11-7-1) and advance to a quarterfinal against second-seeded Red Land Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Hempfield.
The score came during a scramble in front of the Elizabethtown net after a Wilson throw-in. A Bears defender mishit a ball he was trying to clear, lobbing it over keeper Quinn Cozzens' head and into the back of the net with 2:30 left in the first overtime period.
The goal came shortly after the Bears hit the crossbar.
"Elizabethtown is a real quality team," said Wilson coach Tim Fick. "We dodged a bullet tonight."
In regulation, both teams played sloppily on a saturated field and only generated a few quality scoring opportunities.
Bulldogs keeper Scott Krotee made a couple big saves to keep the game scoreless through regulation.
