Highlights:At Greencastle, the 22nd-seeded Panthers (11-10) recorded their program’s first postseason victory by scoring twice in the first half, then withstanding a furious late-game barrage from the 11th-seeded Blue Devils (14-5-1). Schuylkill Valley’s preliminary upset earned it a first-round match with No. 6 Hershey Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Hersheypark Stadium.
Colin Shober converted a feed from Nate Miller 12:58 into the match, and Schuylkill Valley padded its lead to 2-0 on Jordan Sands’ score off a Shober pass five minutes later.
Greencastle-Antrim, with the wind at its back in the second half, finally sneaked one past Matthew Modrick (five saves) when Jordan Springer scored 16:54 after the break. The Blue Devils pressured relentlessly down the stretch, but the Panthers held to notch their first win in just five playoff games spanning the program’s 20-year history.
