Jordan Jackson's jam with 24 seconds left helped shorthanded Reading High defeat West York 55-53 in a non-league boys basketball game, maintaining its perfect record.

Jackson, who scored a game-high 20 points, took a pass from Justin Rodriguez and slammed in the winning points for the Red Knights (19-0).

West York (14-4) missed a chance to tie it as it suffered its first home loss in two years.

Reading High, playing without starters Jordan Burdine and Marcus Dawkins, also was missing two reseves in Francis Camara (football recruiting trip) and Jae-Re Tisdale (work obligations).

West York took a 32-27 halftime lead before the Red Knights scored the first seven points of the second half to take the lead.

Rodriguez, who finished with 10 points, put the Red Knights ahead with a runner down the lane, but twisted an ankle and had to sit out the last half of the third quarter.

West York regained the lead before Nelson Leon hit back-to-back 3-pointers to give Reading a 46-44 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

The lead traded hands several times in the fourth, the last time when Jackson scored from inside the lane with 1:24 left to give Reading a 53-52 lead.

Ben Cable hit 1-of-2 free throws with 42 seconds left to tie it before Jackson broke the tie for good.

Trenity Burdine scored 12 points for Reading. Jordan Cable scored 16 points for the Bulldogs followed by Ben Cable and Dan Haverstock with 12 each.
