Highlights:The Muhlenberg girls are down to their final shot.
Jill Keefer scored 33 points Tuesday night to carry Palmyra to a 49-37 victory over the Muhls in a District 3-AAA PIAA qualifier at Penn Manor.
The loss prevents the fifth-seeded Muhls (20-8) from clinching a state playoff berth for the second straight game. Muhlenberg will get one more chance Thursday at a site and time to be determined when it faces 15th-seeded Delone Catholic for seventh place.
Liz Hornberger scored 12 points to lead the Muhls, who held a 19-17 halftime lead.
Keefer stormed out of the locker room to score all Palmyra’s 14 points in the third quarter to give the Cougars (19-7) a 31-27 lead.
Keefer had four 3-pointers among her nine field goals and converted 11-of-13 free throws.
