Red Land at Exeter (Baseball)
Final
Red Land 3
Exeter 2
Highlights
At Fredericksburg, Tyler Hodges ripped an RBI single in the top of the ninth inning that lifted Red Land to a 3-2 extra-inning win over Exeter in a District 3-AAAA state qualifier at Wenger Field.

The Eagles set the stage for a comeback bid, but a groundout with runners on first and third ended the threat.

It ended a very long game for Red Land pitcher Jeremy Hileman, who was a workhorse on the mound. The Patriots threw a 144-pitch complete-game effort, while striking out 11 batters over nine innings.

The Eagles struck first with Derrick Jackson’s RBI double in the second inning.

Aaron Gentry had two hits and Exeter’s other RBI, and Andrew Hertzog added two hits. The Eagles were outhit 12-6 by the Patriots.
