At Latrobe, the Blazers (15-7) were swept by the District 7 champion Eagles (15-3) in a PIAA Class AA opening game. Ian Rathgeb had seven kills, four digs and two blocks; Alex Kutz had six kills and a block; Danny Dry had 20 assists and six digs; and Jamie Burns had three kills and four digs for Boone. For Beaver County Christian, Quinn McCracken had 20 kills and three blocks; Matthew Knab had 39 assists and three blocks; and Daniel Townsend had 28 digs.
