Highlights:
At Leesport, the Panthers (5-1 Berks III, 13-1) defeated the Spartans (4-2, 11-6) on Criteria H, most total first points scored, after the match ended in a 30-30 tie. Schuylkill Valley scored 13 first points to 7 for Wyomissing. Four bouts, including the first two contested matches, were decided by a point. Two of those went to overtime. Schuylkill Valley tied it in the final bout when Josh Giorgio, the county's top-ranked 106-pounder, scored an 8-3 decision over Alec Torres, ranked No. 2 in Berks at 106. After going through the tiebreaking procedure for nearly 10 minutes, official Chris Ott announced Schuylkill Valley was the winner. The victory clinched a playoff spot for Schuylkill Valley and set up a showdown for the Berks III title between the Panthers and Hamburg Wednesday at Hamburg. Arty Walsh had a fall at 138 for Schuylkill Valley, which received two forfeits. Wyomissing got falls from Mason Smith at 145, Cory Rank at 152 and Josh Naylor at 195.
