Highlights:
Schuylkill Valley wrestling fans had plenty of milestones to celebrate Friday night after the 1,000th dual meet in school history.
The Panthers defeated visiting Newport 71-3 to become the first Berks County school to win 600 wrestling matches. The Panthers joined an elite group that includes only five other District 3 schools and 37 other Pennsylvania schools.
In addition, junior 126-pounder Josh Giorgio won his 100th career match with a 24-second fall. It was one of seven falls for Schuylkill Valley (9-2), which won 13-of-14 bouts.
