Just Say Sports commentary
I just followed a link in one of the other posts to the "Just Say Sports" page and found a mid-season breakdown of IC-2. http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=180394636&blogID=436882556

I don't get a chance to see their show on BCTV, but its nice to see someone taking an interest in local sports. It seems that they are doing their own leg work and investigation, but I do see a few places where they've picked up on some of the local hype.

Thanks, for checkin us out! We always are reading up on high school sports and going to every game possible and look for different things. We can only do so much witha 30 minute program, but the plan is to have a full website with video, polls, contests and more in the near future. I understand the game very well since I had played as well as Zach. Check us out online and watch our shows in the archive. Please let us know what you think. We want to know how we are doing whether it be bad or good.

RE: Just Say Sports commentary
Here are my thoughts on the Top 3 teams in the division:

HN - offense has been impressive, the RB's have all been solid and QB Marrero has been effective. Defense hasn't totally shut down any good teams, but with their O, they haven't needed it. Through divine intervention, survived a likely loss against Hamburg.

Wyo - Defense has been lights out since Wk 3 loss to Muhlenberg. Offense has been grounded since starting QB went down. The running game has been steady especially with no break away runners in the backfield. (I will digress for a moment to state my main critique of the Just Say Sports commentary - McCready doesn't make this offense tick. If it did, they'd really be in trouble - thru last week he only had 8 touches from scrimmage & 1 TD. According to a pre-season article in the Eagle, this offense was supposed to feature the 2 "big play" WR's, McCready and Line, but between them they have a total of 18 catches. I understand they have a freshman QB now, but you have to get your big play guys the ball more than that!)

Hamburg - the tough luck story of the year. They are a few plays from 5-1 (or 6-0). Offense has shown flashes of brilliance, but turnovers at critical times have cost them. Defense has been suspect against the run.

Key games in the next 2 weeks - Wyo @ Hamburg & Wyo @ HN - should (but might not) sort out this division.

An impressive win by Wyo over Hamburg this weekend. Hopefully HN can match up better, although they didn't really shut down the Hawks until the final minute. which was a fluke (IMO). It is a big rivalry game so anything can happen - the team that wants it more wins.

Was down at the central game the other night and for only being in 10th grade the qb was moving his team up and down the field. They are playing some hard nose football right now.

Who ever said Hamburg was in the playoff picture? I just said they were one of the top 3 teams in IC-2. Wyo took care of them rather easily, now this week will decide the section.

BTW, CC already clinched a spot in the 3-A playoffs weeks ago, but their season will be made if they can beat HN for the Campbell trophy (not likely).
