Highlights:At Wolf Gymnasium, Marquis Marshall and Donovon Jack combined for 34 points as the fourth-seeded Saints (24-2) held off a major upset bid by 13th-seeded the Panthers (19-8) in a District 3-AAA first-round game.
Cornell Yarde scored a game-high 20 for Schuylkill Valley, which led 35-34 heading into the fourth quarter.
The Saints regained the lead on Marshall's runner eight seconds into the fourth quarter and held it the rest of the way. Marshall finished with 18 points.
Jack had 16 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
Berks Catholic advances to a quarterfinal game Friday at 7:30 at Hershey High School.
