I could not agree more with the last comment on Kutztown. This team seems determined. I started watching them back when the double sessions started and I saw alot of positive factors. Go to a game watch #5,#20,#9, #15, #25, #56, all players to be looked at in I C #2 |

As a mom of one of the Cougar players, not one mentioned above as mine is only a sophmore, I must say that it is truly exciting! Just FYI, this team now has the guys who went undefeated 3 years ago as a JV team...they are on fire!! |

Let's not get excited just yet. K-town has yet to prove they belong in the same breath as those mid 80's Cougar power teams. They still have some good teams to play. |

"those mid 80's Cougar power teams" - Did they even have a winning record? I played for one of the small schools in the mid-80's, and I don't think the Cougars scored more than 1 TD total in 3 yrs against us.
As for this year, wait a few more more weeks before you declare yourself in the top 3 in IC-2. By that time someone will figure out that your QB is playing both ways, and make sure that he takes a beating over the course of the game. |

MJ, yes, Kutztown did have a winning record in either 82 and 83 or 83 and 84.
I think its sad that you guys are trying to rain on these kids' parade. They are on fire and working hard to improve their game and you guys are being so critical.
If I remember correctly, the Eagles fans claim they are going to the SB after winning one game. And this is from a team that has no SB wins...
That's okay. Our boys are above that, thank you. |

If I may just add my two cents for what it is worth. I agree on both views of MJ and Kutztown mom. Having watched K-Town play I believe they are a solid team, and have shown that they can be a contender in the IC2, But we must not let it go to being overconfident. Keep playing within ourselves. And is it not nice to hear something about a Berks football team other then the usual ones. Keep up the spirit alive |

K-town Mom:
Glad to hear that they are working hard – that is one of the keys to a successful season. Every team has talent, but that only gets you so far. The difference between the “usual” Berks teams DD refers to and the rest is that hard work is ingrained in their program, so from year to year the kids know what is expected of them and what they need to do to win. I wish Kutztown the best – I really hope they can turn the corner this year. If they need any inspiration, look at what the Boone program has done in the last 5 years.
