Highlights: At The Geigle, former Reading High guard Justin Rodriguez had a big night for the Mustangs (1-1, 3-3) against his ex-teammates, but it wasn't enough to stop a second-half onslaught that lifted the Red Knights (3-0, 7-2) to the win.

Rodriguez, a senior point guard who helped lead Reading to last year's Berks and District 3-AAAA titles, had a game-high 27 points in his return to The Geigle, helping stake Mifflin to a 31-23 halftime lead against an altered Red Knights lineup.

But Reading High's usual starters returned to the floor in the third quarter, when the Red Knights outscored the Mustangs 23-8 to regain control.

Marcus Dawkins led Reading High with 16 points and Yamil Echavarria had 15. Dawkins, Echavarria and Xavier Mumford (eight points) combined for 19 third-quarter points.

Casey Hughes contributed 12 points for Mifflin.
